Sensor fusion and signal processing

Systems that perceive: from raw sensor feeds to a track, a bearing, a fix or a decision, on hardware that fits where the mission is.

What we build

  • Sensor fusion. Feeds from different sensors combined into one picture, with the disagreements between them handled in the open rather than hidden.
  • Signal processing, including RF and radar data, from capture through detection and classification.
  • Direction finding and spectrum pictures built from the receivers a unit can afford to carry.
  • Assured positioning, navigation and timing for environments where satellite navigation is degraded or denied.
  • Data pipelines that carry sensor output into decision software, ours or the program’s own.

Runs on modest hardware

The software is written to run on modest hardware at the edge, not only in a data center. That shapes every choice: what is processed on the sensor, what crosses the link, and what the operator sees first.

Measured under fixed protocols

Protocols are set before results are collected, and predicted figures are labeled as predicted. A pipeline is delivered with the numbers it produced under those protocols, so the program knows what it has before it goes to the field.

Problems we are asked to solve

  • A sensor that produces more data than the link can carry.
  • Two sensors that disagree, and an operator who has to choose between them.
  • A unit that has to navigate and keep time without satellite signals.
  • A spectrum picture that has to come from inexpensive receivers rather than a van full of equipment.
  • An existing sensor whose output needs to feed a decision system it was never built for.

What you receive

  • Processing software with source and documentation.
  • Test reports against the protocols fixed before testing began.
  • Integration with our decision software or with the program’s own system.
  • Where the work needs it, the mounts, enclosures and field hardware that carry the sensors, from the same team.

How an engagement runs

The founder scopes the problem, builds the plan and assigns the team. Work is subcontracted to primes, delivered to program offices through SBIR and STTR, or done as a firm-fixed-price study or RFQ under our registered NAICS codes.
