Applied AI and decision software

Software that turns data into decisions an operator can read, challenge and approve.

What we build

  • Integration across sources. We bring data in from many feeds and formats, work out which records describe the same thing, and keep one picture current.
  • Scoring an operator can read. The software ranks what matters and shows its reasons, so a person can challenge the result instead of trusting a number.
  • Decision support and command and control views that fit the way the operator already works.
  • Agent-based automation. Where a workflow can be automated, the system prepares the action and a person approves it. Nothing acts on its own.
  • Cyber defense monitoring and alert triage, with the same approval-before-action rule.
  • Compliance evidence. The same tooling produces the RMF, NIST SP 800-53 and CMMC evidence a program has to show.

Built for the edge when the mission needs it

Systems that must run with no network, cloud service or external model call are designed that way from the start. The software is written to run on modest hardware where the operator is, not only in a data center. Where a model is part of the system, it can be hosted on the unit itself.

A person stays in charge

Where a system can act, a person approves first, and every decision leaves an auditable trail. That rule is in the design, not in a policy document, and it is the same rule the commercial platform runs under every day.

Problems we are asked to solve

  • Many feeds, no single picture, and analysts reconciling them by hand.
  • An alert queue that grows faster than the people reading it.
  • A workflow that needs automation, and an accountability rule that automation keeps breaking.
  • An evidence package for an authorization that takes weeks to assemble by hand.
  • A decision aid that has to work disconnected, on the hardware the unit already carries.

What you receive

  • A working software build with source and documentation.
  • Test reports against protocols fixed before testing began, with predicted figures labeled as predicted.
  • The evidence package that goes with it.
  • Training for the operators who will use it.

How an engagement runs

The founder scopes the problem, builds the plan and assigns the team. Work is subcontracted to primes, delivered to program offices through SBIR and STTR, or done as a firm-fixed-price study or RFQ under our registered NAICS codes. Where the decision software needs sensors or a housing, the same team delivers those too.

Proving ground

A data integration and audit platform built by Darkbyte correlates more than 20 sources and is in daily operational use at affiliated manufacturing and distribution companies. It runs the same integration, scoring and approval-before-action patterns described here.
